1.1 Accessibility color settings

The Good:

  • all settings can be viewed at one glance

The Bad:

  • orphaned border settings
  • dialog is vertically too large
    • results in very large default minimum size for the whole settings window
  • cut off slider buttons
  • inconsistent color mode group
  • busy dialog with information overload

Revised accessibility dialog

Suggested changes:

  • put border settings in one separate group
  • put selection of color modes in a drop down

Rationale: The HIG advise to use radio buttons only for up to three entries. For four and more entries, drop downs should be used.

The Good:

  • cleaner, less busy dialog
  • well grouped settings
  • smaller vertical dialog size
  • bottom of the dialog leaves space for more information about the selected color mode

The Bad:

  • Getting an overview of available color modes is slightly harder and needs a few more steps

Initial dialog view, no changes made by user.
