1. Systray status indication is a little distracting and unclear
The download status is not really reflected in the tray icon. When adding a file from Konqueror, the KGet tray icon flashes with a “play“ or start button. It is unclear what this means (maybe it’s asking the user to start the download by hand from the main window?). Clicking the flashing icon only shows the KGet main window with no download added to it. (This may be simply a bug.) The blinking is also quite distracting.
Suggestion: If it’s not a bug: use non blinking icons to distinguish between “downloading”, “paused”, “finished” and “error”.
2. Quitting confirmation unnecessary
Quitting KGet the first time asks the user if she really wants to quit. In our experience users get annoyed by these pop up windows since they break their workflow. Eventually they turn these warnings off.
Suggestion: Since KGet offers resuming downloads quitting it accidentally is non destructive. So it is safe to not ask if the user really wants to quit.
Status This issue can’t be addressed by the KGet developers. It would need a global change in kdelibs for all systray apps.
